History
Our company was founded in 1980. Initially a burglar alarm company, Personal Alert Systems, Inc. was started when an existing client asked if we had a system that could summon help for her grandmother if she needed it, without need for a full burglar alarm. Since manufacturers didn't have a standalone emergency response system at the time, our co-founder, who had an engineering background, built his own system. Personal Alert Systems, Inc. was born from a need to help elderly people stay in their homes longer, with added peace of mind in knowing they can get help when needed.
Personal Alert Systems is dedicated to providing its clients with the most efficient and professional services possible. Unlike most emergency response companies, Personal Alert Systems exclusively monitors only emergency alert systems, in our in-house monitoring station in Colorado. In addition, Personal Alert Systems utilizes a back-up monitoring station that is updated several times a day to provide them with the most updated information possible.

Your emergency alert system is always at your side, either worn as a necklace or worn on your wrist. You can summon help, 24-hours a day from anywhere in your home, including the bath or shower, simply by pressing your personal button.
Pressing the button activates the system and within seconds a trained operator can speak directly to you from any room in your home.
Your customized response plan with your personalized information is immediately available to the operator. If help is needed the operator will dispatch a designated friend, a relative, a neighbor, or emergency personnel. Even if the operator does not get a verbal response from you, a designated friend, a neighbor, a relative or emergency personnel will be sent to check on you.
Our systems are also equipped with a back-up battery to keep your equipment working during a power outage.
